We had a wonderfully stay at Pine 🌲 Cone Lodge 10/4-10/8 in Sycamore and Cherry Cabin. We came to do some Ranger(ATV) riding and did enjoy approximately 80 miles a day. First evening we headed to Zorbaz for dinner. We rode Paul Bunyan State Forest the first full day and finished at the Iron Horse Bar and Grill. Day two took us approximately 20 miles in a southern direction to the Huntersville State Forest visiting the Outpost for a refreshment early after noon and ending up at Hilltop Inn in Hubbard for dinner (I would normally say supper as I am from the farm for all these evening meals). Day three back to Paul Bunyan and paused for a refreshment mid afternoon at the Stomping Grounds near Akley the dinner at Bullwinkles in Nevis. In the off time enjoyed the evening sunsets and fires, a bit of corn hole and morning walks…..great place to get away and relax and enjoy time with friends and soak up all Minnesota Fall has to offer🍁

Pine Cone Lodge was the perfect place to spend a beautiful fall weekend and a much needed getaway! We explored the area by biking on Heartland Trail and hiking in Paul Bunyan State Forest. We enjoyed shopping in Park Rapids, Nevis and Walker as well as trying out some local restaurants and brewery's. Of all the places we visited, Pine Cone Lodge was our favorite! We stayed in Cedar Cabin and it was perfect. It was quiet, clean, and very cozy. The main lodge was also beautifully redone with a homelike feel. So many personal touches throughout! It truly was a home away from home! Thank you for a great weekend! We will definitely recommend to others and look forward to staying again!

Spent an amazing weekend with 2 of my daughters, sunrise views were stunning and the cabin was impeccably decorated and clean. Best night's sleep I've had in a very long time.

We took a mini vacation up north and stayed at the Pine Cone Lodge in the Cedar Cabin. It was very beautiful, modern, clean and comfortable all for a great price! Our host, Bonnie, was very nice and attentive to our needs. The view of the lake from inside and outside of our cabin was absolutely beautiful! The only downside we experienced was being able to hear the little feet running around above us when we were going to bed, there was a groomsmen's supper going on in the banquet hall next to us (our cabin is attached to the lodge) we didn't hear any of that. Our overall experience was great and we will definitely stay there again! We would highly recommend Pine Cone Lodge to anyone who is looking for a relaxing trip!

Beautiful reconstruction of an historic lodge from 1915 incorporating the original wood and features. Brand new rooms. Very clean with every detail considered. The Brands are wonderful hosts happy to provide “a home away from home” on Big Sand Lake. Open year round. Great value!

Amazing. As our location for our Easter weekend family get together, this lodge far exceeded our expectations. We had plenty of space for each of our family groups. Because we are here off peak, the lodge was quiet and quite beautiful with a half frozen lake to view put the large living room windows. We brought groceries to cook all our meals and have the necessities to make home cooked meals. Wonderful.

Absolutely breathtaking! Pinecone Resort is truly a hidden gem right on the lake, and my friends and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the incredible craftsmanship and beautiful woodwork throughout the cabin-it felt both luxurious and cozy at the same time.

One of my favorite touches was the old newspaper clippings and stories showcasing the resort's renovations over the years. You can feel the history and love poured into this place, especially knowing it has been family-owned for generations. It's clear the owners don't just run a resort-they share a piece of their legacy, creating a space for others to make lasting memories.

The cabin itself was fully stocked with everything we needed and more, making our stay effortless and comfortable. Every detail was so well thought out, even the charming pinecone-themed décor that added the perfect rustic touch. The home was filled with warmth, character, and beautiful sentiments to the family's history.

If you're looking for a place that combines natural beauty, history, and heartfelt hospitality, Pinecone Resort is it.

Absolutely beautiful property and cabin. The views and location are unbeatable. The Spruce cabin was huge with a giant open floor plan perfect for a large group. Highly recommend!
